Driving licence and a check code from the DVLA (Great Britain licence holders only) Please click on ‘Read More’ on our homepage for instructions on how to obtain this code. For non-photocard licence holders we require another form of photo ID such as a passport. We also require 2 further forms of identification which confirm the driver’s name and address within the last 3 months. Acceptable documents include utility bills, council tax and bank or credit card statements.

Yes. Hire charges do not include fuel. Most vehicles are provided with a full tank but in some cases the level of fuel may be different. It is the drivers responsibility to replace the fuel used, returning it back with the same level as taken out. All hirers should REFUEL IN GLENROTHES and KEEP A RECEIPT for proof of refuelling.  Failure to do so or refuel appropriately will incur a minimum refueling charge of £10.00 + VAT irrespective of the mileage covered.

Yes. Depending on drivers circumstances, for all 3.5T vehicles, minibuses and large cars it is £200.00. For small cars and any vehicle under 3.5T the deposit is £100.00.

No, however if you wish to guarantee the vehicle then payment for the rental would be required. The full rental and deposit must be paid before commencement of the hire.

The rental and deposit must be paid by the drivers credit or debit card.(Excluding Maestro). We DO NOT accept cheques or cash as a method of payment.

The insurance we provide is fully comprehensive and like all insurance policies there is an excess payable. The amount of excess will depend on the age and circumstances but this will be explained to you prior to the commencement of the hire. In the event of an accident you should not accuse or accept liability with any other parties involved other than exchanging personal details, making note of the other parties vehicle registration and contact number as well as contact details for any independent witnesses other than friends and family.

The normal acceptable age for all hires is 25 to 70 with a minimum of two years driving experience with a full UK drivers licence. We do cater for ages 21-24 and 71-75 subject to conditions and an additional premium. Prior notification would be required for anyone outwith the 25-70 age category.

A day hire means the vehicle maybe collected from 9:00am during office hours one day and should be returned by 9:00am on the following morning. For alternative collection and return times please contact our office on 01592 610101.

No, there is a set mileage allowance which varies depending on the duration of the hire. Please see our prices section or ask a member of staff prior to the commencement of the hire. Mileage Allowance

We do not offer this facility as it would be a security issue but if you should do so of your own accord then you would be liable for anything that happens to the vehicle while left unattended until such time where a member of staff can secure the vehicle.

No. You cannot use someone else’s card to make a payment. Payment for the rental should be made by the driver’s card only.

In the event of a breakdown the driver would need to call the breakdown number on the key fob or the windscreen unless stated otherwise.

Once a booking has been made and a payment accepted we are unable to cancel the booking or process a refund.

In cases where it is clearly not your fault, you would still be held liable for the excess until the claim has been processed and all expenses have been claimed from third party insurers at which point you will be entitled for the refund of your excess.

In certain circumstances endorsements are permitted but these have to be clearly pointed out to us at the time of booking so we can quote you accordingly. Yes, however, foreign licence holders must be in the possession of a National, and where required an International or European Driving Licence. Restrictions may apply to some licence holders. If you are a temporary visitor to the UK, you may drive up to 12 months on your non-UK Driving Licence. We would prefer it that you have National, an International or European Driving Licence. If you do not have a Driving Permit for the UK, you will be asked to provide evidence that you are a temporary visitor, and that you have not been in the UK for longer than 12 months.

We may permit the use of our vehicles out with mainland UK (Scotland, England and Wales) subject to prior approval and paying the necessary premiums.

The hirer requires a full UK licence with the following categories.

Category B (suitable for all our hire vehicles except our 12 and 17 Seat Minibuses)

All cars and Light Commercial Vehicles up to and including the maximum weight of 3.5tonne.

Category D1 (Required for our 12 and 17 Seat Minibuses)

Minibuses with no more than 16 passenger seats.

Yes we have a tow bar option on the Ford Transit SWB and LWB. Any trailer in excess of 750kg must be braked. Please note our insurance does NOT cover your trailer, or goods carried therefore a policy cover note must be presented at the point of hire.

Free miles is your mileage allowance. Any additional miles covered will be charged between £0.10 and £0.16 per mile plus VAT depending on the type of vehicle. The fuel level still needs to be returned the same regardless of the distance travelled.
